Concrete & Wooden Gravel Boards
Our kick boards can be used with our fence panels and offer exceptional value for money.
Their job is to raise fence panels off the ground which protects the timber from premature damage caused by moisture ingress. If a fence comes into contact with the ground for a prolonged period moisture can penetrate the surface and cause the timber to rot and decay.
Gravel boards are especially important if you have a flower bed in front of the fence, or if your garden is in a particularly shaded or damp area. We supply treated timber and concrete kick boards in a variety of heights and lengths, all expertly made to do the very important job of keeping your fencing off the ground.
Why use a Gravel Board?
They are used to give a fence extra height whilst protecting the fence panel. Many feel they are a finishing touch to a well put together run of fencing.
Not purely for aesthetic measures though; For instance timber versions are made from a specific type of timber that when treated to a certain "class of treatment" is ideal for areas of the fence that are in constant ground contact, concrete alternatives are just as effective.
So if you install a panel with a gravel board at the bottom it does a fantastic job of protecting the panel from the elements on the floor.
We supply two types of gravel board
Concrete & Timber. Concrete gravel boards are perfect for use with slotted concrete posts.
Our timber boards measure 1.83m x 150mm x 25mm, usually used with fencing such as traditional featherboard fencing. This gravel board does not work as well with concrete posts.
Our range of concrete gravel boards includes both smooth faced, rock faced boards and recessed gravel boards. They're available in a variety of different sizes, perfect for giving a little more privacy to any garden. Our concrete gravel boards add extra height and are also maintenance-free. Once installed, all they need is a quick wash once in a while..
