East Coast Fencing are the original home to the ultra heavy duty closeboard fence panel range. We began producing ultra heavy duty closeboard fence panels many years ago because of our passion to ever increase the quality of our products.
Competitors soon began imitating this range, but the fact still remains - where East Coast Fencing leads, competitors follow.
Our Ultra Heavy Duty Fence Panel range is the strongest, most durable and also the most popular range of heavy duty fence panels we offer.
Available as 1828mm / 6ft wide and in eight standard heights, we can make the ultra heavy duty fence panels to almost any size you require.
Manufactured by us here in Essex, the Ultra Heavy Duty Closeboard range is pressure treated, as with all of our closeboard fence panels.
The Ultra Heavy Duty Range from East Coast Fencing is designed to last. They're hand-made using more timbers that any of our other closeboard fence panels.
All of our closeboard fence panels are pressure treated, and topped with weather capping.
We buy around 40 cubic meters of timber every month, which equates to roughly 16,000-20,000 feather edge slats.
Only the finest feather edge slats go into our Ultra Heavy Duty Closeboard fence panels, any slats we don't feel are perfect will not make the cut.
Slats that are not perfect dont get wasted though, we make budget closeboard fence panels from them
The Ultra Heavy Duty Closeboard Fence Panel range has four componants. Feather edge slats, fence panel backing rails, weather capping and nails.
Our feather edge slats are what is called in the industry 125mm x 22mm EX, this means they start with a 125mm x 22mm plank of timber then cut it into a wedge shape.
This process leaves a wedge shaped feather edge slat that is 125mm wide, approx 16mm on the thick side down to approx 6mm on the thinner side.
Fence panel backing rails are the back bone of any heavy duty closeboard fence panel. Unlike others, all of our closeboard fence panel backing rails are 75mm x 32mm and depending on the height of the fence panel, it will have either three, four, five or six fence panel backing rails
Many of our competitors use thinner rails in the middle of the fence panel, with only stronger ones at the top and bottom. We feel this is merely a cost saving excerise and do not participate, all of our closeboard backrails are 75mm x 32mm
Weather capping is an very simple yet effective and crutial part of any fence panel, the job of weather capping is to disperse water away from the fence panel, protecting it from water ingress.
Just like most things, there are good nails and bad nails. Our nails are called annular ring shank nails, which have been "double dipped" to prevent rusting
No, fully framed fence panels create a weak spot right where you need them to be the strongest. Our backrails are one full length timer that goes from post to post.
